Rev. Robert Lewis

Robert Lewis is a native of Virginia,
having grown up in parsonages in
Sandston, Norfolk, Suffolk, West
Point, and Alexandria. He and his wife
Rachel met at Randolph-Macon
College and were married in 1997.
Both attended Duke Divinity
School. Rachel has served as pastor
of the West Buckingham Charge
and Robert has served the Hyco
Charge in South Boston, and
Oakwood UMC in Columbia.
In 2003, as probationers, Robert and
Rachel accepted an invitation to
serve abroad in the Methodist
Church of Great Britain. Stationed
in Sheffield, England, they
transferred to the British Connexion
in 2004 and were ordained there in
2005. Serving in the Ecclesall
Circuit of eight churches, they have
each held pastoral charge of several
of the congregations. Robert has
primarily been minister of Banner
Cross Methodist Church since 2004
and in 2008 was invited to also
become Superintendent Minister of
the circuit. He will serve "on-loan"
to the Virginia Conference until his
transfer home is completed.
